WGH Recognized as Best Place to Work in Illinois for 5th Straight Year

Wabash General Hospital (WGH) was recently named one of the 2023 Best Places to Work in Illinois. The awards program began in 2006 and is promoted by The Daily Herald Suburban Business.

WGH President & CEO, Karissa Turner, stated, “This is a milestone year for receiving the Best Place to Work in IL award. We are proud of the recognition received again this year and plan to celebrate this milestone with our staff. Great things continue to happen for Wabash General Hospital and this is one of the many positive accomplishments our staff should be proud of. We had major upgrades to our facilities, electronic health records, equipment, and service lines this past year and despite all the changes we made to better serve our customers, we continued to positively impact, support, and grow our team. We have a lot to be thankful for and I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the team at WGH.”

This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Illinois, benefiting the state's economy, workforce, and businesses. The 2023 Best Places to Work in Illinois list is made up of 36 companies in the small employer category (15-99 U.S. employees), 15 companies in the medium employer category (100-499 U.S. employees), and 6 companies in the large employer category (500 or more U.S. employees). Wabash General Hospital has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Illinois in the medium category.

Wabash General Hospital will be recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in Illinois awards in-person luncheon, coordinated by The Daily Herald Suburban Business on Thursday, May 11. The final rankings will be announced at the event and posted on the Daily Herald Suburban Business website (dailyherald.com/business). In addition, the top companies representing the Best Places to Work for Women, Millennials, and Hispanics will be announced and honored.
