Unit Secretary/Technologist (PRN)

Department: Emergency Room

Minimum Requirements

CNA certification preferred, but not required. Medical terminology a plus, previous healthcare experience helpful. At least (1) year experience as secretary or Administrative Assistant preferred. Previous hospital experience preferred, but not required. May be required to work any day of the week including holidays and weekends.

Job Duties

The Unit Secretary will serve as a receptionist, perform clerical duties, processes physician orders and schedule/coordinate patient tests and procedures on the nursing unit. You must be able to communicate well with customers and patients of all ages. Must be able to register patients to the hospital, including the customers billing information and filling out the appropriate computer and paper information correctly. Obtain all appropriate signatures on the face sheet and admission papers.

The ER tech provides basic patient care to promote cleanliness, safety, and comfort of all patients: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Performs duties as directed by nursing staff to meet the needs established by the nursing process. The ER tech provides a range of patient care including: obtains vital signs; monitors and records patient intakes and outputs; answers call lights; assists staff with splinting, dressings including ace wraps; collects stool and urine specimens; assists patients with ambulation; toilet needs; assist with post-mortem care; Provides or assists with basic patient care. Notifies RN or physician of change in patient condition. Efficient in using EMR and T System. Notify ancillary departments of new orders. Assist in arranging consults and transfers. Follows all policies and procedures as established by WGH for patient care and confidentiality.

Radiology Tech (PRN)

Department: Radiology

Minimum Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent. Completion of course of study in radiologic technology from an AMA approved school. Registered as an American Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and licensed by Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety. Good background knowledge of anatomy and positioning. Technologist will be required to assist with lifting or moving patients for proper positioning of exams ordered. Technologist will assist receptionist in answering the phone and scheduling necessary studies. Technologist understands workflow within department and basic hospital wide workflow and processes.

Radiology/Ultrasound Tech (FT)

Minimum Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent. Completion of course of study in radiologic technology from an AMA approved school. Completion of an Allied Health program which qualifies the technologist to take the appropriate sonography registries: RDMS, RVT, RDCS. Ultrasound technologist must be willing to take call for Emergency call back studies. Ultrasound technologist is required to communicate closely with radiologist and physicians offices regarding studies, since ultrasound is so technologist dependent. Ultrasound/Radiological Technologist must have the minimum knowledge and abilities to provide service and care to patients and customers of all ages. She/he understands the process in place using the digital systems in radiology used for imaging, sending images, storing and reporting of images. Technologist understands workflow within department and basic hospital wide workflow and processes. Technologist abides by written dress code as described in the hospital and department policies. Patient Confidentiality is to be maintained at all times. Technologist follows policies and procedures for patient care as established by Wabash General Hospital. Employee must report injury immediately or mechanical problems of department director as soon as possible.

Clinical Laboratory Section Supervisor (FT) $2,000 Sign-on Bonus
