Wabash General Hospital District Achieves Perfect Score in Swing Bed Reaccreditation Survey

Wabash General Hospital District is proud to announce that it has earned a perfect score during its recent Swing Bed Reaccreditation Survey.

A swing bed program provides skilled nursing care and short-term rehabilitation for patients who are not yet ready to return home following a hospital stay. At Wabash General Hospital, the Rehab to Home program serves patients who have been hospitalized for at least three days and need additional nursing or rehabilitation support before discharge. Services may include physical, occupational and speech therapy, skilled nursing care, wound care, IV treatment, respiratory therapy, nutrition counseling, medication counseling, and disease-management education.

The comprehensive survey, performed by The Compliance Team (TCT), included an in-depth evaluation of the hospital’s swing bed program, policies, staff qualifications, and patient care processes. Following the review, the program was found to be in full compliance with all Exemplary Provider® Swing Bed Quality Standards, with no deficiencies cited.

As a result of this outstanding performance, Wabash General Hospital District has been awarded a three-year certification from The Compliance Team, effective May 2, 2026, through May 2, 2029. The hospital also received The Compliance Team’s Exemplary Provider® Award, recognizing its commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

During the survey process, evaluators conducted a thorough review that included staff interviews, patient record assessments, and inspections of clinical operations. Surveyors noted that staff demonstrated strong knowledge of their roles, responsibilities, and adherence to established policies and procedures.
