Occupational Therapy

You may benefit from occupational therapy if an illness or injury begins to make your everyday activities more difficult. This form rehabilitation services improves functional independence and helps patients take part in things they want and need to do for a higher quality of life. At Wabash General Hospital, our occupational therapists are specialists in treating patients of all ages. They help by teaching or improving “the skills for the job of living.” Typical occupational therapy interventions may include assistance with injury recovery and help regaining functional skills and providing support for elderly patients who experience physical or cognitive challenges.

Patients receive individual evaluations and personalized goals. Our team will create a treatment plan designed to improve your ability to perform daily occupations and steadily work towards reaching your goal.

Our Occupational Therapy Services

We offer:

  • LSVT BIG: Parkinson’s disease and other neurological disorders
  • Home safety: adaptation education and modification recommendation
  • Industrial health: work conditioning and work hardening, functional capacity evaluations, job demand analysis, and workstation ergonomic assessments
  • Orthosis fabrication (splinting) and casting: upper and lower extremities
  • Pediatric: sensory integration, autism spectrum disorders, and developmental delays
  • Stroke rehab
  • Whole upper quarter: orthopaedic and neurological conditions, and cervical and thoracic spine
  • Upper extremity therapy: shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand therapy
  • Other: TMJ, blood flow restriction training, wound care, dizziness/vertigo
